Dan Judy’s comments in The Hill regarding the Department of Justice investigation of Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell:

Dan Judy, a Republican strategist, said he was dubious that the move would have an instant electoral effect, given that the workings and purposes of the Federal Reserve are not necessarily followed closely by the median voter.

But that would change, he predicted, if turbulence in the markets increases.

“If these sorts of things start to roil the markets, then that’s something voters pay attention to,” Judy said. “The biggest vulnerability for Trump in his second term remains the economy and inflation.”
